Keep it coming boys…

Following on from last month’s ‘Honey’, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard have dropped their new tune ‘Some of Us’ with an accompanying visual, and it’s got us feeling the heat. The video makes use of a thermal heat sensor to tap into the archaic intensity and insanity that seems to come easy to the Melbourne supergroup, and the result is totally bad-ass.

The tune features real jagged vocals on the verse and chorus, with a matching guitar line that’s equally as haunting and anxiety inducing. The lyrics are just as otherworldly, with lines like ‘Ancient tombs like sand filled wombs of/ Peoples past, understand everything/ Melted iron, untold aeons/ Crafted demise, destroying everything’ exploring the concept of remembrance throughout history and how people are ultimately forgotten as time goes on.

Expanding on the genesis of the tune on Twitter, the band wrote “This Cookie penned, Stu sung song came together early this year as the world was slowly descending into madness, but before it was truly on fire.” The track definitely captures the fiery madness of 2020 (as well as the fire of their creative energy in general). It’s properly sick, check it out below.
