Tender af…
Coming through hard for the legions of fans craving new material, Melbourne psych gods King Gizzard have dropped a gorgeous new tune ‘Honey’, and an accompanying music video that hits the soul like none other. Beginning with a mellow guitar line that instantly puts the listener at ease, we’re blessed to a series of shots of Stu jamming out in some scenic af locations, making mad use of natural lighting.
He also comes through with some sultry vocals that perfectly capture the vibe of the vid, all the while working in wonderful harmony with that fingerpicking guitar. The end of the track sees Stu continuing to serenade us as the camera pans out, but not before we’re teased with what appears to be the lead-in of a new tune, featuring a classic Giz synth and a steady lead-in from drummer Cavs.
Commenting on the new release, singer Stu wrote online “Shot at sunset during the apocalypse with a reeeeeeal long lens. I wrote this song a couple of years ago. It’s nice to have it out in the world ❤️ Stu Xoxox.”
It’s safe to say this is definitely what we need right now, and for those of you out there that are having just a bit of trouble sleeping at night (who wouldn’t with the ridiculous state of the world right now), we’re prescribing ‘Honey’, to soothe all your souls & more.
