Hot off killing the VMAs with a performance of her latest single ‘Midnight Sky’, popstar Miley Cyrus has sat down with Spotify’s latest addition Joe Rogan for an episode of The Joe Rogan Experience. Of course, pair didn’t at all hold back, talking everything from Miley’s tumultuous upbringing to her sobriety and how she’s portrayed in the media.
There are plenty of notable moments throughout the episode, but it was definitely cool to see Cyrus open up about her divorce with Liam Hemsworth in such a mature way. Speaking on the ordeal, she said “I recently just went through a very public divorce that fucking sucked. What really sucked about it wasn’t the fact that me and someone that I loved realized that we don’t love each other the way that we used to anymore. That’s OK. I can accept that. I can’t accept the villainizing and the, just, all those stories.”
Miley got even more candid about the relationship toward the end of the episode, stating “When it’s, like, been the most stressful times in my life, I can’t reach for drugs anymore, I don’t want to reach for bad food. Alright, I’m gonna reach for someone to love me,” adding that when people are in love “you do feel like you’re high on drugs. It’s the same drip.”
It’s definitely an interesting interview, and lets us see the star in a super rare light. Check the full episode below.
