Welcome to headbang central…

In an Aussie music collab I don’t think any of us saw coming, Peking Duk, The Amity Affliction and Jesswar have joined forces for a gritty cover of AC/DC’s stadium rager ‘TNT’ on The Set.

Filmed before lockdown and in what feels like a lifetime ago already, the cover sees the local acts go all the way in on the rock classic. Featuring vocals from Peking’s Adam Hyde along with Amity Afflictions Ahren Stringer and Joel Birch on the hooks and verses, the three mesh surprisingly well on the tune, their performances charged with attitude as they put it all on the line for the iconic tune.

Brisbane rapper Jesswar adds some fiery hip hop flavour as well, her rap verse around 1:25 equal parts chill and punchy as she brings the heat of past releases like ‘Venom’ and ‘Medusa,’ going toe-to-toe with the clattery drums and off chops guitars. That guitar solo from Amity Affliction’s Dan Brown at around 2:20 is fucking epic as well, encapsulating all the energy of the rendition as the band of musos get ready to send it for the final verse.

It’s definitely a pretty sick cover that AC/DC themselves would no doubt sign off on. And of course fans are already adding it to their Hot 100 shortlist in the Youtube comments. Check it out below (and be sure to check out the photoshoot + interview we did with Peking Duk last week here).
