I can’t begin to understand…

American rocker Phoebe Bridgers has definitely been getting mad attention as of late, her sophomore album Punisher copping positive reviews and plenty of love for its stellar songwriting and composition. So much so that she even received three Grammy nods for the effort, as well as landed the first SNL performance of her career. However, we’re thinking SNL might not be super keen on having her back any time soon, or if they do, they’ll be taking some precautions, specifically to ensure Bridgers doesn’t go absolutely ape shit on any more guitars.

During the appearance, the 26-year-old performed her smash hits ‘Kyoto’ and ‘I Know The End,’ but as she was coming to the end of the latter, she all of a sudden switched things up; in other words, smash her guitar on the amp in front of her. The first couple hits got a couple sparks and made some waves, but the final thrusts definitely sealed the guitar’s fate, as it was reduced to a mangled shadow of its former self. Then, in true badass fashion, Bridgers walked off to conclude her set.

I mean it’s pretty smart, considering everyone is now talking about it and it still managed to catch attention during Super Bowl weekend. But still, being a fan of guitars and whatnot, my heart breaks just a bit watching this go down.

Pretty insane right? However, we’re honestly quite impressed her band continued playing amongst all the craziness. No doubt promoters and show directors are gonna be extra careful the next time they book Bridgers for a show. For now, check out some of Twitter’s best reactions to the carnage below.
