Sometimes the simplest of ideas make the best music videos, and Teenage Dads have just dropped an absolute ripper for their latest single, ‘Sunburnt’.

Some artists will spend thousands on videos and come up with something that is so boring you want to throw your computer out the window. Ridiculous concepts, props and acting are often some of the biggest failings, so it’s refreshing when a young act like Teenage Dads drop a clip for like  ‘Sunburnt’ that masterfully avoids all these potential potholes. Oh, and it helps if the track is a banger too.

‘Sunburnt,’ which is the third single since their 2017 EP Wett Weather, is a bouncy indie-pop jam that features plenty of infectious vocal hooks and a notably droney, chorus-drenched organ which is an intriguing addition to the rocky roots of the tune. Complete with a half-time psych jam, the ‘Sunburnt’ has a little something for everyone but stays true to the sound the four-piece have been carving out for themselves over the past couple of years.

The clip is an example of how a good idea and a great performance is all you need to captivate an audience. “We were a bit pressed for time and we wanted to do something simple for the ‘Sunburnt’ clip. Vinnie knew of these yellow canola fields out past Melbourne and we thought the setting would tie in nicely with our album art,” the band says. “As soon as we decided on the idea, we packed the camera and made tracks. The dance is just one we always do when we go to gigs and festivals and we thought it complements the joyous feel of the track.”
