The world underwent an undeniable West Coast resurgence after N.W.A film Straight Outta Compton screened last year, offering a cinematic insight into the tumultuous rise and fall of the Californian supergroup. 2Pac made a brief cameo in that film during the recording of ‘California Love’, and now All Eyez On Me will be examining the rapper’s life in greater detail. While a snippet of the movie made its way onto social media earlier this year, we’ve now received the first official trailer.
Just as we expected, it features Versace silk shirts, scuffles with law enforcement, guns and some onstage action for good measure. The protagonist is being played by 2Pac doppelganger Demetrius Shipp Jr, while East Coast counterpart Biggie Smalls will see Jamal Woolard stepping back into the black Timberlands after portraying the rapper in 2009 film Notorious.
The film is set to hit screens this November, while September 2016 also marks the 20 years since 2Pac was gunned down in Las Vegas. In the meantime, get your eyeballs around this trailer:
