While Prince was slated to appear on Kendrick Lamar’s masterful album To Pimp A Butterfly, he never made it on the final cut due to time constraints – and while we can’t help but wonder what could have been, we have this amazing footage of the two performing together back in 2014.

Resurfacing in the wake of Prince’s tragic death some weeks back, the video shows Lamar joining Prince for a rendition of his 1998 track ‘What’s My Name’. The show took place at Prince’s private Paisley Park estate, with a short performance to celebrate the release of his albums Art Official Age and Plectrumelectrum.
