Three years after their story first landed on streaming service Hulu, the story of Wu-Tang Clan’s rise to icon status is set to be concluded in the final season of Wu-Tang: An American Saga. Set in the early 90s, the third season is set right after the the release of their debut album, Enter the Wu-Tang: 36 Chambers, and chronicles the group’s fallout from their new-found success.
Although the trailer shows all the glitz and glam that comes with fame, it also shows that like most artists and groups, the young group struggles with the enormity of their brand and the pressure to write more music. Consequently, the group’s descent into chaos is well-showcased, with numerous scenes showing them caught up in altercations and fights not only with competitors in the music industry, but their own record label and fellow Wu-Tang members as well.
Despite the drama and anarchy rife throughout the two minute teaser, the youthful exuberance of Wu-Tang is just as present, with one member saying at 1:30, “This shit is way more fun when it’s out of control”. It’s a statement that does well to describe the show as a whole, and luckily, we won’t have to wait too much longer to see its conclusion. The final season of Wu-Tang: An American Saga premieres on Stan on February 15. Check out the full trailer below.
