Billie Eilish’s teenage years have been absolutely explosive since she burst onto the scene a couple years back, her breakout hit ‘Ocean Eyes’ thrusting her into the forefront of the culture in a way few pop stars have managed to replicate. Before she’d even finished her debut album When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? all eyes were on her, the pressure mounting as the world set some super high expectations on the then 16-year-old. Naturally, it was all a bit stressful for the Los Angeles star, and she’s opening up on it all in a new documentary, titled The World’s A Little Blurry.
The documentary, which premieres on Apple TV+ on February 26, follows Eilish through the crazy ups and downs of her adolescent years. From recording her Grammy-winning album to relentlessly touring across the world and all the hiccups along the way, the trailer really takes you right up into those super personal moments that we don’t usually get to see from the ‘Bad Guy’ singer.
The doco also focuses on Eilish’s parents and the 19-year-old’s mental health struggles, with Eilish’s mum saying in the trailer “I honestly don’t know how any artist of any age is doing it without a parent. It is a horrible time to be a teenager. Kids are depressed,” with Eilish adding in a separate scene “I look into the crowd and I see every single person in there is going through something, and I have the same problem. I was like, ‘Why don’t I turn this into art instead of just living with it?’”
Pretty rad. No doubt fans will get to know the biggest pop star in the world in the way they’ve always wanted. Check the trailer for the doco below.
