We all have certain songs in mind we’d want for our entry music, the days of old WWE setting the standard for what an entrance song could truly be. You want something tough, intimidating and just downright badass, to let your competitor know you’re not here to be fucked with, and you take no prisoners. Yet, UFC fighter Mike Perry had the tables turned on him at UFC 255 the other day, having his song swapped out for a far less intense tune.
Instead, the Michigan fighter received the Beyonce classic ‘Halo’ for his entry music, something I don’t think anyone in the arena would’ve expected. He had two options: kick up a big fuss, or roll with it & use it to his advantage. Naturally, the Weltweight opted for the latter, singing along fiercely while he prepped for what was to come.
Joe Rogan noted though that the song was a good moment, with Perry having his very pregnant girlfriend rooting for him in his corner. With the song being about loving your other half unconditionally and perceiving them to almost have a ‘Halo,’ we’re betting that dichotomy applies to Perry and his wife in spades.
Sadly, old mate ended up losing the fight, but we’re gonna assume that that was because of him, as opposed to Queen B.
