ASAP Rocky has raised plenty of eyebrows in the past, collaborating with everyone from Rod Stewart to Lykke Li – and now comes another unexpected single.

The prominent Harlem emcee dropped ‘ASAP Forever’ yesterday, featuring electronica veteran Moby. The track references his iconic, serene 1999 hit ‘Porcelain’ over thumping bass, and at the halfway mark, the track leans on Moby’s original with even more emphasis, making you feel like you’re floating through space with that vocal sample echoing throughout. We’re pretty sure nobody saw this coming, and ‘ASAP Forever’ still finds an amicable balance between heaviness and haziness.

Today, the head-spinning video clip has dropped and only adds to the track’s effectiveness, with the camera swinging around Rocky like a rollercoaster, before he drifts in slow-motion while surrounded by hyper-colour glitches. Again, it’s exciting to see Rocky’s continued evolution as an artist – this feels worlds apart from ‘Fuckin Problems’ – and yes, we’re even more amped for his forthcoming album TESTING.
