Changing it up…

Pushing the creative bounds in typical Weeknd fashion, the Toronto superstar has shared the new music video for the ‘In Your Eyes’ remix ft. Doja Cat, and he’s gone full virtual.

The vibrant visualiser follows Weeknd as he drives through a futuristic city full of flashing lights and neon signs. The vid throws it back to old school CGI and 90s animation, but does it in a way that still feels super fresh, while capturing the overall feel of the After Hours album and the track itself. At one point he’s literally drifting along a rainbow road in the middle of space, no doubt a secret ‘Mario Kart’ reference for sure. And yes, Doja makes an appearance in the vid, her avatar every bit as glamorous as you’d expect.

Along with working on sick music videos, the Weeknd has also been busy on the humanitarian side as well the past couple of weeks. The month of June saw him donate large amounts of money toward coronavirus relief as well as organisations fighting for racial equality. He’s publicly donated over $1 million USD ($1.4 million AUD) so far, while encouraging fans & other celebrities to do the same.

He’s definitely firing on all cylinders, socially & artistically. Check out the video below.
