Still sporting the red jacket, oversized shades and obnoxious attitude, the ‘Blinding Lights’ clip picks up where ‘Fearless’ left off.

Right from the outset, a bloodied Abel sets the tone for the ongoing highs and lows of his incredibly faded Vegas night. Although not quite as trippy as the ‘Fearless’ video, ‘Blinding Lights’ does have its own kaleidoscope moment around the 2:20 mark and features plenty of action with cuts to Michael Jackson-esque dance sequences and a pretty brutal scene that sees The Weeknd catch the hands of some chrome-domed security guards. We’re still hanging out for an album announcement but given the push behind the pair of singles and their two-part cinematic video, we might be on for a new Weeknd project. Here’s hoping.

‘Blinding Lights’ debuted in December as the soundtrack to the Mercedes-Benz EQC campaign in which Abel Tesfaye creative directed and starred and has amassed over 300 millions streams. Fittingly, the new clip heavily features The Weeknd joy riding in a topless Mercedes. Compare the two and check out all the action in the videos below:
