Earlier this month, we put our party pants on and checked in to Motel Mambo for a one-night staycation with some very special guests.

Few Australian labels have developed a cult following like Mambo – and for a single night, this motel at Warners Bay was transformed into a wonderland filled with excess colour and the playful logos that we all know and love from the brand. Kicking off in the mid afternoon, Halfway Crooks’ own Captain Franco got things underway by DJing from a motel room balcony – a huge power move – before Winston Surfshirt took over a makeshift stage.

The ~secret~ headline act for the evening was none other than Tkay Maidza – and if you give her debut album TKAY a spin, you’ll see why she was the perfect candidate to put everybody into holiday mode. See our video recap of the party right here:
