After all seemed lost and there appeared to be little to no chance of her staging a comeback, 22-year-old Naomi Osaka defeated Victoria Azarenka to win her second U.S. Open over the weekend, coming through with her third tennis Grand Slam title. Azarenka definitely looked like she had it in the bag at one point, starting early with a first set 6 – 1 score, and coming into the final on an 11-match win streak.

But Osaka dug deep and won the remaining second and third sets 6-3 each, much to the delight of her fans and boyfriend YBN Cordae. She’s actually the first tennis player in 25 years to stage a comeback after losing the first in a U.S. Open, which is an amazing achievement on its own. Naomi had the sickest response after winning the finals too, commenting “Firstly I want to congratulate Vika. I actually don’t want to play you in more finals because I didn’t really enjoy that, that was a really tough match for me.” She also stated that she was able to turn things around after thinking of how “embarrassing” it would be to lose in under an hour. Looks like it worked for sure. And it definitely looks like Osaka’s boyfriend rapper YBN Cordae was super stoked by the result, with new footage showing the L.A. native going absolutely crazy after Naomi won the match point.
