Man’s gotta stop…

The Weeknd definitely put the work in for his album After Hours, releasing banger after banger as well as taking a pretty unusual promo route to get word out. Of course, we’re referring to the bandaged, bruised look he sported throughout the album’s promotional material as well as on countless public appearances. For a while there we thought Abel was literally suffering from some face condition or some other whacky shit. But alas, it was all for the art, and we saw the end result in his ‘Save Your Tears’ video, which saw the Toronto crooner sport one of the most terrifying faces we’ve ever seen.

Specifically, it was made to look like he’d had a plastic surgery go horrible wrong, but in reality it was a bunch of major prosthetics for the video, and the character he was developing for it. The result was bloody terrifying if we’re honest, the protruding cheeks, altered forehead and just literally everything about it looking like it was out of a horror movie or some shit.

Now, he’s taken the liberty of showing his face off again, in what looks to be a BTS shot from the ‘Save Your Tears’ shoot. Of course, it’s just as freaky, the ‘Tell Your Friends’ singer going out of his way to look as menacing as possible.
