The Melbourne-based musician launches his own pop-up parties.

Have you met Wesley Fuller? The afro-wielding rock ‘n’ roller, who looks and sounds like he’s wandered in from the 70’s clutching his demo tape in one hand and a guitar in the other, the guy who’s responsible for banging tracks like ‘#1 Song’ and ‘Runaway Renee’ – not to mention his huge debut LP Inner City Dream. Ring any bells? Well, he’s putting on a run of club nights called Wesley Fuller’s Kicks and it’s sounding like a real good time.

The events, which will take place at Yah Yahs in Melbourne and Waywards in Sydney, will feature a performance from Wesley with supports from Bananagun (Melbourne) and local fave Georgia June (Sydney) as well as DJ sets that will deliver tunes from decades past, with plenty of glam, freakbeat, soul, psych and funk.

It’s a tasty menu for punters where, according to Wesley, we can expect “a mid-week disco where hard hitting, foot stomping, hand clapping, fist pumping sounds reign. Big beats and funky breaks. Dress to impress, drink to success and dance like the best!”

Wesley Fuller’s Kicks first installments are happening tonight at Yah Yahs (info here) and tomorrow night at Waywards (info here). Sounds too good to refuse.
