Out via Wiki’s own label, the newly formed Wikset Enterprise, OOFIE follows his critically-acclaimed 2017 solo debut No Mountains In Manhattan. It also comes in the wake of a string of stand-alone single releases this year, including ‘Cheat Code’ and the Madlib produced hip-hop banger ‘Eggs’. Flying the flag for experimental sounds in rap while touching the mic with classic New York style, Wiki has been honing his unmistakable and undeniable flair.
The charismatic rap character also shared a first taste of the album with ‘Pesto’, an appetiser stacked with tightly wound bars reminiscent of the sounds pioneered by RATKING in the mid 2010s. A fitting nod to the group’s role in pushing rap’s boundaries, ‘So It Goes’ was recently included in Pitchfork’s top 200 albums of the decade.
