Joining the likes of HONNE, Wet Leg and Rex Orange County, Irish singer-songwriter Dermot Kennedy will tour Australia in 2022, announcing a slate of headline shows for May of this year. Like many other artists in 2020, the acclaimed muso was forced to postpone his Aussie shows due to the closing of international borders. But with the world opening up again and touring bouncing back with a vengeance, it seems he’s one of many itching to get back to Australia.
The tour will see the ‘Paradise’ singer kick things off in Brisbane at the Fortitude Music Hall, before taking to the Forum in Melbourne for a three night run before finishing things off at Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion. Sadly, due to COVID restrictions, Kennedy’s Perth shows are unable to go ahead, but with venue upgrades and added shows across Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne, he’s more than making up for it.
Speaking on his return to the country, the Dublin-born muso explains, “This has been a long time coming and I couldn’t be more excited to be coming back to this beautiful land. All previously purchased tickets remain valid – thank you so much to everyone who held onto theirs throughout the last two years. I can only promise you this will be incredibly special.”
Tickets are expected to fly quick for this one, so you best get in quick! Presale goes live at 9am this Thursday, with general sale at 9am the day after. For now, check out the full list of tour dates for Dermot Kennedy’s Aussie shows below.
