After the kerfuffle surrounding their last single-copy album Once Upon A Time In Shaolin, it seems like the legendary Wu-Tang Clan are taking a more conventional route for their next full-length.

We have confirmation that the New York supergroup are working on an album, which will hopefully be released as we commemorate a quarter century since the release of their relentless raw and forever influential debut, 36 Chambers. Masta Killah also notes that instead of their go-to mastermind RZA, fellow member Ghostface Killah will be steering the project.

“He’s putting that together as we speak. There will be another Wu-Tang Clan album. We’re working on that right now, and hopefully it’s ready right with the 25th anniversary,” Masta Killa says.

Inspectah Deck went on to say that Ghost “just gives it a new outlook and a fresh coat of eyes and ears. Ghost has taken it upon himself to say, ‘I want to get the beats, I want to hear some things that’s happening here,’ so we’re trusting him the same we trusted RZA in the beginning.”

“Why not, man? Ghost has been successful in his solo endeavors. It’s a change of pace. Hopefully we get another banger, another Wu classic out of this project as well, in the 25th anniversary,” he continues.

The change of pace might be beneficial for the Wu-Tang – let’s see how this project pans out. There’s no release date set in stone, but note that the 25th anniversary of 36 Chambers falls on November 9 of this year, so we’d expect it towards the tail end of 2018.
