Earlier this week, it was reported that controversial pharma bro Martin Shkreli would be ordered to give up $7.36 million in assets due to his forthcoming sentence for fraud.

Among those assets is the sole copy of Wu-Tang Clan’s mythical album Once Upon A Time In Shaolin, which Shkreli purchased back in 2015. Since there’s only a singular copy of the record, the world hasn’t heard it just yet, and it’s now in the hands of authorities – but Wu member U-God has just dropped a bombshell for those waiting wrap their ears around the project.

Confirming the longstanding rumours, U-God has stated that pop icon Cher – who just visited Australia to headline Mardi Gras – does indeed appear on the album. The eyebrow-raising collaboration has been talked about since Cher sent this concise Tweet about the pairing back in 2014, but only have we gotten more information on the track.

“It’s crazy, because me and Redman got a track with Cher on there,” U-God told TMZ. When he was questioned about just how in the world something like this comes into fruition, U-God was tight-lipped, saying ““I don’t even know either.”

A Wu-Tang Clan & Cher collaboration is probably what the world needs right now, but even U-God doesn’t know if we’ll ever get to hear it, with the future of the one Once Upon A Time In Shaolin album up in the air. Still, U-God insists that it won’t be coming out of his pocket. “I’m not gon’ buy something that I made,” he said.

Let’s hope and pray that this arrives sooner than later.
