Amy Winehouse documentary Amy has now received a UK release date of July 3, with the first poster from the film also surfacing online.
The film, which is being brought to us by the award-winning team behind Senna, explores Winehouse’s life and rise to fame through archival footage and unreleased tracks. Ultimately, it will also focus on her battles with addiction that led to her death.
“Her huge success, however, resulted in relentless and invasive media attention, which coupled with Amy’s troubled relationships and precarious lifestyle, saw her life tragically begin to unravel,” a press release reads.
Winehouse’s record-breaking album Back to Black won five Grammy awards, capturing ears and hearts across the world with her infectious energy and voice. Winehouse passed away from alcohol poisoning in 2011.
