To celebrate the release of her EP ‘Manic Dream Pixie’, we’ve made internet sensation Peach PRC our official Artist Of The Week…

Australian singer-songwriter Peach PRC has finally released her highly anticipated new EP, Manic Dream Pixie, via Island Records Australia/Republic Records.

A collection of diaristic pop bangers that infuse traces of hyperpop with shiny 2000s nostalgia, Peach PRC’s music is a portal to an era of flip phones and Discmans, where Paris Hilton was queen bee and teenagers flicked furtively through glossy magazine pages in search of the Dolly Doctor sealed section.

On Manic Dream Pixie, Peach PRC turns the ‘manic pixie dream girl’ trope on its head. Far from the dimension-lacking stock character the trope aims to critique, Peach PRC presents the internal workings of a deeply complex and unequivocally female mind. A critic of Peach PRC’s could only argue that her inner world is too big. Which would be stupid.

From the nightclub-approved lead single ‘Kinda Famous’ (produced by Konstantin Kersting, the producer behind Tones & I’s chart-topping ‘Dance Monkey’) to the profoundly gripping ‘Dear Inner Child’, the six-track body of work showcases Peach PRC’s unapologetically pink vision, armed with air-tight pop production and genuinely clever songwriting.

Peach PRC’s talent for storytelling and world-building is evident across all facets of her artistry, having built an expansive personal narrative that extends well beyond her detail-rich music, to her TikTok – which boasts more than 2 million followers – and now a short film.

Teased in 11 video chapters released prior to the EP, the Manic Dream Pixie Short Film, offers a visual companion to the songs, depicting some of the real lived experiences that inspired their writing. Directed by Kyle Caulfield, the short film is just another testament to Peach PRC’s singular creative vision.

Peach PRC will be celebrating the release of her EP with a sold-out national tour, which kicked off last night in Adelaide and will also see her visit Melbourne, Perth, Sydney and Brisbane. With millions of streams under her belt and a colossal fan base chomping at the bit, we predict Peach PRC is headed somewhere big.
