Dance Festival Breaks World Record For ‘Most People Dressed As Fruit’

It’s no secret that Swedish dance duo Dada Life love bananas – but their borderline obsessive behaviour surrounding the fruit has just reached new levels. At their very own The Voyage festival in San Bernardino, they officially broke the Guinness world record for ‘Most People Dressed as Fruit’.

Of the 15,000 attendees at the event, 629 dedicated punters came dressed as bananas – officially squishing Germany as the previous holders, where one congregation saw 404 people dressed as grapes.

However, there is a message behind all this madness – with the stunt conducted by Dada Life to raise awareness of Tropical Race 4 Disease, which has plagued banana plants throughout Asia and Africa.

Olle Corneer of Dada Life said that “we use bananas for everything, seriously. They’re on our rider, our fans come to gigs dressed as them, they’re even in our logo. Imagine if we can’t get hold of them any more, it’s a crazy thought.”
