Coachella hosted the reunion of Rage Against The Machine in 2007 and ATL legends Outkast in 2014. However, 2016 might mark their biggest throwback gathering yet, with reports that Guns N’ Roses will headline the Californian festival.
According to Billboard, the reunion will feature both Axl Rose and Slash – who last performed together way back in 1993. The group’s notoriously tumultuous relationship means that OG members have been engaging in a war of words for years – but it seems that they’re ready to reform in colossal fashion for Coachella. That might have something to do with reports from Billboard that a stadium tour for the group is also on the cards, with GNR asking for $3 million per show.
There’s been no word from the Coachella camp, although an official lineup announcement is expected for early January – meaning that we should hear even more murmurs next week. Along with Guns N’ Roses, DFA Records’ favourites LCD Soundsystem will also be reforming for the festival, which takes place on April 15-17 and April 22-24.
While we wait for the full lineup, listen below and imagine just how fucking good this would be.
