Last week, Kanye West announced his intention to run for President of the United States in 2020 – and whether or not he was joking, he’s already gained supportive words from stars like Rihanna to another ridiculous candidate in Donald Trump.

Now, it seems like a West Coast heavyweight is also throwing his weight behind Yeezus. Speaking to Daily Mail Australia on his Straight Outta Compton promotional tour, Ice Cube said “I’m voting for Kanye. Who is better than Kanye that would run?”

Cube ruled himself out of a Vice President position, saying that “You know, I’m into helping my people get over the hump. I don’t have time to help everybody. We got a lot of work to do.”

And Kim Kardashian as First Lady? Cube said that it would be “cool”, adding that “‘If that’s what it is, that’s what it is… No matter who is the President, you got to all get up and go to work in the morning.”

And there you have it – the campaign for President West is building momentum. Let’s hope this actually happens so that we can all look forward to a swaggier future for the United States. Check out our own full shoot with Ice Cube & O’Shea Jackson Jr here, and watch the interview below:
