Just in case you couldn’t make it to Stereosonic, punters were treated to an unexpected visit from iconic Australian journalist Karl Stefanovic.
Known for his unorthodox banter, on-screen pranks and generally being a fucking lord, Stevanovic is a welcome break from the mundane world of television news – something which Peking Duk have capitalised on during their Stereosonic appearances on the main stage.
In what has to be one of the biggest collisions between loose Australian legends, Stefanovic recorded a video introduction for the duo, admitting that he loves to get “absolutely Peking Duk’d at a music festival”. The video has already gained over 250,000 views on Facebook in less than 24 hours.
Meanwhile, Peking Duk have also been going viral for dropping Da Rude’s dance classic ‘Sandstorm’ at Stereosonic with rambunctious reactions from the audience – and as Inthemix point out, the resurrection has been so successful that ‘Sandstorm’ is sitting at #18 on the iTunes Dance Chart, even above Peking Duk themselves who follow closely behind at #19.
