'IGNITE: Heat the Street' is coming.

It’s no secret that Kings Cross has taken an absolute belting over the past few months, resulting in some of our favourite venues closing their doors. Now, we finally have some good news coming from the area.

Many people have described the lockout laws as ‘draconian’ – we prefer other adjectives like ‘dogshit’ and ‘extremely inconvenient when trying to shred the dancefloor to Mariah Carey bangers at 3:20am’. Now, in the face of even further proposed regulations for venues, Kings Cross will host IGNITE: Heat the Street on November 23.

The daytime festival is set to take over The World Bar, Kit & Kaboodle, Goldfish, Kings Cross Hotel and a handful of other venues, highlighting those which provide job opportunities for aspiring local musicians. There are 40 acts scheduled for the day, including KLP, M-Phazes, The Potbelleez & more.

The best part? It’s absolutely free. Get down there and show Kings Cross some lovin’. More details here.
