It’s timeless, confident and easy to wear, and fashion companies have appropriated a black and white approach to their products since we can remember. This season has seen a huge revival in the triple black trend – particularly in sneakers – but we thought that we’d throw a little white in there too since we aren’t goths (anymore).
Here’s some of our favourite items within the monochrome range, from head to toe, available to purchase now via Glue Store:
Monochrome items allows you to pull off bolder prints with more confidence, as evidenced by this polka dot bucket hat by streetwear staples Stussy. If you’re on board with the ScHoolBoy Q fan base, then you’ll definitely have a bucket hat handy this summer. This one is one of our favourites, featuring just the right amount of simplicity and zing with an all-over print and Stussy’s classic scrawled logo.
Being huge fans of surf and skate, we wholeheartedly welcomed the resurrection of 80’s cult brand Life’s A Beach, with one of our favourite items being this longsleeve tee. Four-sided shirts are another item making a swift comeback this season, and this number features prominent old-school graphics on both sleeves and the back, as well as a more reserved image on the front chest.
While the weather definitely is heating up, we still keep a couple of hoodies and windbreakers in our closets for the cooler nights and occasional rainy days. The sportswear trend has been easing into mainstream fashion convincingly over the past couple of seasons, with Nike’s Tech collections offering cozy options that still look tapered and presentable. This windrunner is a prime example.
There’s few better feelings than the arrival of shorts weather – when it’s time to tan your calves and free those legs from restrictive denim. These joints from St. Goliath feature a slim fit and above-the-knee cut for neatness, while a distinct split sees one side stay all black, contrasting to the other half’s tweaked paisley print. A nice modern interpretation of a classic.
With every brand offering their own lightweight running footwear models, few have become as popular as the Nike Roshe – and with good reason. It’s cheaper and more accessible than Nike’s related products like the Flyknit and the Free, with this black and white pair one of the easiest to match with an outfit. It features a black silhouette with a dotted torso, a proud white swoosh and a cloud-like midsole. You can’t go wrong.
