If you’ve ever seen Major Lazer live, you know how much energy they bring to the stage – and they’ve condensed all that vivacious colour and action into a brand new animation series based on the OG character himself.
The cartoon “tells the story of a superhero named Major Lazer who, with the help of his two teenaged friends, Penny and BLKMRKT, fights against the villains that populate the futuristic dystopia that is Jamaica. A self-proclaimed ‘Guardian of the Groove,’ Major Lazer vows to fight for the rights of the Jamaican people and to bring down the ruthless curmudgeon, President Whitewall. Part of Animation Domination.”
The first episode is just as trippy and intense as you’d expect, and has been released on YouTube just in time for 4/20. Meanwhile, Major Lazer will also be releasing their new album Peace Is The Mission later this year. It features the likes of 2 Chainz, Pusha T, Ariana Grande & more, so we’re praying for an Australian tour before 2015 wraps up!
