There were shades of Australia’s Next Top Model’s 2010 finale at the recent Miss Universe competition, where host Steve Harvey accidentally announced the wrong winner.

In a highly dramatic and celebratory tone, Harvey named Columbia’s Ariadna Gutierrezas as Miss Universe to a crowd of screaming fans in Las Vegas, as the new 2015 winner was handed a bouquet flowers and a shiny sash heralding her new title. However, he later retracted his statement, and revealed that Pia Wurtzbach of the Phillippines was this year’s real winner. To his credit, Harvey apologised immediately and took full responsibility for the mistake. Still, we can’t imagine the range of emotions these two ladies went through in a space of five minutes.
