The Formula 1 legend capitalises on his infamous post-race tradition…

Although the classic shoey has been written into the fineprint of Australian booze culture for milenia, there’s no denying that the act of consuming alcohol from the vessel of a used shoe isn’t suitable for all settings. That’s why Formula 1 Racer and known shoey enthusiast Daniel Riccaiardo is releasing what should’ve been invented years ago – a limited-edition, shoe-shaped wine decanter.

Coinciding with the release of Riccardo’s Fine Wine collaboration with St. Hugo, the “Ricciardo Decanter” is modeled on one of the motorists’ actual racing shoes, and comes after his participation in the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne over the weekend. The Cinderella-inspired vessel is said to optimally release the aromas of various wines, and puts an end to the squelch of a beer-soaked inner soul after a particularly rowdy pre-drinks event.

With only 1,100 shoeys available, the decanter comes with a hefty $700 price tag. Speaking of the release, Ricciardo said he “needed something truly refined, something truly Ricciardo, something that would make the wine taste like a podium finish.” If you’re looking to be the talk of your cousin’s baby shower, you can purchase the “Ricciardo Decanter” here.
