Need to see them face off one more time…

Continuing his never-ending hinting at potential match-ups, Floyd Mayweather has stated he might be interested in a rematch with the Notorious MMA Conor McGregor, according to a new interview with Forbes.

The interview did indeed see the undefeated legend confirm that he’s working on a comeback fight for 2020 or 2021, saying “We’re working on some things right now for Tokyo, whether 2020 or 2021.” But when it came to Conor McGregor, Mayweather was totally transparent about his conditions for a rematch, with Floyd saying “I won’t compete in MMA. I think just like how winning teams receive home-field advantage in the playoffs…you don’t fix what isn’t broken, and my record isn’t broken.”

Although everyone was pushing for a rematch in the Octagon, Floyd feels no pressure to fight whatsoever, being “happily retired.” But of course, if the pay check is big enough, it seems old mate would be more than happy to make a return, teasing “You never know, but it would have to be worth it. Just like gambling right? Juice worth the squeeze no matter who the opponent is.”

Recently joining Floyd in retirement is Conor himself, who announced that he was stepping away from the UFC back in June due to the fact that he was “a bit bored of the game”. But, prior to the retirement announcement, Conor McGregor promised his life on beating Floyd in an “inevitable rematch”, so who knows what the Notorious has planned.

Regardless, a match up between the two in whatever ring would be entertaining af. Fingers crossed we get to see it sometime soon. Check out some highlights from their first match to see the two great fighters go head to head.
