Although his attempts to purchase Twitter have seemingly fallen through, Elon Musk now has a one of the Premier League’s biggest teams in his sights…

And he’s zeroed in on none other than Manchester United. Hot off garnering their worst result in the Premier League and finishing sixth last season, it seems the once crown jewel of the Premier League now has sharks circling, with Elon and his $270 billion USD bank account leading the pack.

Taking to Twitter to make clear his political leanings, it seems the Tesla head honcho was in the mood to stir up even more controversy, adding, ““Also, I’m buying Manchester United ur welcome”.

Although, similarly to his Twitter takeover, it seems he might have a fight on his hands, with longtime owners of the club (the American Glazer family) refusing countless offers for the team in the past. Still, considering old mate just sold $6.9 billion USD ($10 billion AUD) of Tesla stock, we’re guessing he’ll be more than able to change their minds, especially while the club is in such obvious disarray.
