Regardless we need to see Mike back in the ring soon…

It looks like we won’t get the Mike Tyson/ Tyson Fury matchup that’s been quietly teased for a little while now, with the Gypsy King announcing that the deal fell through after he received a “joke” offer. It’s alleged that Tyson wanted $700 million AUD for the fight, however, his team proposed Fury a significantly smaller amount, with Fury stating “Whoever was offering the comeback money to Mike offered us peanuts.”

Fury confessed he would’ve loved to go head-to-head with the boxing legend, but also had concerns that his reputation would suffer whether he won or lost, calling it a “lose-lose situation.”

“If he had won then people would have said I was rubbish because a 53-year-old beat me and if I had beaten him then I would have been a bully.”

Despite the failed talks, Fury has stated that he is “backing his comeback”, saying that he told Tyson to “to follow the dream and fill the void because life is too short for regrets.”

Fury definitely has a valid reason to see a loss to Mike as a possibility, with the 53-year-old posting several workout videos online showcasing the terrifying speed he still has all these years later. No doubt his return to the ring will be every bit as explosive as we’re hoping. Check out a vid of him training below and get keen.
