Let’s begin with a brief history lesson…

First dropping back in 1977, the Style 36 – now better known as the Old Skool™ – was Vans’ second-ever skate shoe and the first to rock the iconic Sidestripe™. Built by skaters, for skaters, it changed the game with its groundbreaking suede toe cap. Now, Vans are keeping that legacy alive with the Skate Old Skool 36+ (and they’ve also shot some insane footage of the team as evidence of its pure skateability!).

The kick stays true to the original Style 36 look and vibe while bringing in some fresh, modern updates including a padded tongue, shorter toe cap, and DURACAP reinforcement for added durability. It delivers top-tier grip with SICKSTICK gum rubber and a waffle sole, while the POPCUSH insole provides cushioning, impact protection, and energy return for smooth, high-performance skating.

The Skate Old Skool™ 36+ will be available from January 31, 2025, at Vans retail stores, vans.com.au & skate shops. Peep some up-close shots below:
