It’s seeming like 2019 will be a year of first for the Vans Park Series. Not only will the tour will be touching down in five major cities this year, but it will also mark the first time that VPS World Championship will be hosted on American soil, with Utah hosting the final event in September.
The series, which can proudly boast a commitment to endorsing prize parity between men and women competitors, will kick off in Shanghai in May, before hitting Sao Paulo, Montreal, Paris-Chelles, and Salt Lake City in the following months. Don’t sweat it if you can’t get along to see these events in person – there’ll be a premium live webcast produced at every stop on the tour so you don’t miss out.
“Our mission to inspire youth and grow skateboarding participation around the world by promoting skateboarding’s unique and creative culture remains our number one goal,” said Bobby Gascon, global director of action sports, Vans. “With Vans Park Series now in its fourth consecutive year, we are dedicated to growing the foundation for park terrain skateboarding competition and cultivating an elite class of professional athletes who are deserving of international recognition.”
