Vans Pro Skate Park Series (VPS) and the International Skateboarding Federation (ISF) have partnered for the inuagral world championship skateboarding qualifying event, and it’s kicking off this Saturday in St Kilda!

Nutting out the nitty-gritty of the events, the partnership will include outlining competition formats, scoring structures and the defining and ranking of park terrain skateboarding.

Catch Life Without Andy and a heap of crew at the Beach Burrito welcoming party on 232 Gertrude St, Fitzroy from 7pm on April 14th. With plenty of skateboarding to cleanse the soul, there will also be giveaways and cheap beers. Whats not to love? Four men’s and one women’s qualifying heats will kick off the folowing day on Friday April 15, and the real juicy action including trick contest and semi-finals and finals begins on Saturday April 16 at St Kilda skatepark.

Steve Van Doren from Vans says that “this year marks Vans’ 50th anniversary, so it’s fitting that in establishing the Vans PS Park Series in 2016 we reinforce our commitment to driving skate progression for men and women and to fostering new and innovative global platforms for creative expression.”

We are super pumped here at LWA to be there every step of the way as series launches. Catch the international roster of top pros here and see who could cash in on the $500,000 prize purse. The 2016 inaugural series will be broadcast live right here, or head down yourself – it’s free!
