Vans once again tap one of our favourite skaters and take us back to the 90s.

We’ve said it before, but we’ll say it again, the 90s and naughties is powering its way back into mainstream culture, getting its mitts over everything from fashion, photography and videography through to the endless reboots of TV shows and films. And we’ve gotta say, we’re definitely here for it.

The latest iteration of goodness from our favourite decade is Canadian skater – who wasn’t anywhere near born in the 90s – Una Farrar’s collab with Vans and Dime. Her custom take on the Vans Mixxa sillhouette, blends classic chunky skate style with modern innovation, with the all-black sneaker featuring unique details like Vans’ warped checkerboard pattern, a custom clover design by Una, and co-branded elements, making it a stylish nod to her creativity and heritage.

As you would expect, it has all of the performance-focussed features that Una needs including a stitched-on cupsole and reinforced T-toe overlay for enhanced durability and impact protection. DURACAP™ rubber underlays strengthen high-wear areas, while the SickStick™ rubber outsole ensure long-lasting grip and exceptional boardfeel.

“I wanted the colourway of the Mixxa to be quiet and clean so anybody can wear it. Black and gum is subtle and classic. It is a huge honour to see my name on a shoe and share it with brands I’m inspired and aligned with. I like the nostalgic silhouettes of the early 2000s, so the Mixxa was a perfect fit. I added a little extra luck on the side with the clover,” says Farrar.

Una unveiled the new kick with a daring stunt video that we agree should not be attempted by amateur volcano tightrope walkers:
