The Pentacoastal star and freesurfing legend proves he’s pretty handy on the design front too.

Forget about Wade Goodall the surfer for a minute. Forget about how much you love Pentacoastal (yes, we’re still frothing on the B-sides). But all that in a basket and ahh… chuck it somewhere… and take a look at Wade’s third and most powerful Vans collaboration.

It’s all fully embodied in the Vans x Wade Goodall Destruct SF, which features a rugged rubber formation that makes it virtually immune from water and tear. It doesn’t compromise aesthetically either, with leather uppers, white contrast stitching and bright yellow laces taking it just beyond a shoe to a proper workhorse of a kick.

Other notable pieces include Wade’s Sk8-Hi 138 Decon SF and the La Costa Slide-On. The Sk8-Hi offers black suede quarters with leather detailing, white contrast stitching, electric blue laces and the signature black star sidewall art on a white sole. The Slide-On, on the other hand, comes in a soft synthetic black leather with the Vans logo on the UltraCrush footbed, offering functionality while significantly increasing ease of accessibility.

Fully immersing himself in his array of influences, Wade rounds out the collection with timeless apparel suitable for all events and occasions, with the SS woven shirt in seedpearl affirming his nature-inspired aesthetic. And of course, Wade includes some classic board shorts to really drive home the range, topped off with detailing on a classic black style with contrasting seedpearl drawstrings and stitching.

Speaking on the new release, Wade explains: “With my new range, I really wanted a combination of clean design with art and customization. The shoes are hard-wearing with bonus primary color lace packs so that people can have fun and make them their own. Whatever mood or phase they are in, they can be themselves. Prints and embroidery of my watercolor paintings are throughout, and then there’s some classic, clean pieces. It is a range that is like me: at times toned down, happy doing my own thing and sometimes covered in paint.”

The new Vans X Wade Goodall collection is now available at Vans retailers and at Vans.com/Surf. Check out some more shots from the drop below.
