To celebrate their debut collab, which drops tomorrow, Vans & Octopus Ltd. have shared some chaotic visuals.

There’s this 90-second song by The Vines called ‘Highly Evolved’ and the video clip opened with some text that read: “A lot can happen in 90 seconds if you use your imagination”. It came to mind today when I watched Vans and Octopus’ edit, only you don’t need to use your imagination to see that A LOT is happening here.

Filmed by Dave Fox, Paul Daniel, and Jorgito Rivera, edited by Matt Payne, the clip opens with Harry Bryant getting absolutely rinsed and nicely reflects the no-fuss, what you see is what you get attitude of the Octopus crew. “It’s literally a bunch of surf geeks hanging out, filming idea babies that Matt [Payne] and crew cook up— which is basically the whole brand in a nutshell,” Dylan Graves says of the company and edit.

It’s even more cool considering there was a little mishap with some gear that nearly made the shoot fall apart. “When all the sample gear arrived at my house to shoot for the video, I was in the middle of moving and I accidentally took the box of gear to an Op Shop (thrift store),” Harry Bryan says. “A few weeks later I was looking through the boxes and realized what I had done, so I went back to the Op Shop and purchased one of each item so we could shoot the product. I think people have been kicking around Wollongong in the Octo x Vans collab gear for a few months now thanks to those box’s getting mixed up.”
