adidas Skateboarding introduces the newest members of their footwear range – the 3ST family.

If there’s anyone we can rely to hook us up with a well designed skate shoe, it’s Na-Kel Smith. We’ve just heard that the street skater, along with a bunch of other pros, has teamed up with adidas Skateboarding to deliver their latest pairs of collaboratively created kicks – the 3ST.001 and 3ST.002 – and we’re keen to slip into a pair. It represents a new creative process where designers and athletes are working together to deliver the best product possible.

Focussing not only on aesthetics of the sleek looking range, the crew over at adidas have also packed loads of practical features into the 3ST’s such as breathable knit-sock uppers, strategically placed adiBuff technology to protect high abrasion areas and elevated, inset laces to ensure minimal breakage.

“3ST is a perfect example of what can be achieved with open dialogue, open minds, and true collaboration between a team of artists in their respective crafts—a bold creation that reimagines the vulcanized shoe in the skateboarding industry,” Scott Johnston, adidas Skateboarding Senior Footwear Designer says. “The best part of the workshop process was involving our skateboarders so early on in the design process to ensure the products’ authenticity to the team and skateboarding.”

The 3ST models will be available at adidas retailers from April 5:
