The Australian will share the prize with Japanese hardcore outfit 999999999.
After selecting eight finalists from around the globe, the Vans Musicians Wanted competition
boiled down to a gig at the House of Vans in Chicago yesterday. The judges were torn between Aussie (and former busker) Shahrae and Japanese act 999999999, eventually deciding to give both acts winning prizes.
Shahrae has scored a new music video from MTV Asia and 99999999 have earned themselves a set at performance in the evening’s “Takeover” event live broadcasted by Boiler Room. Shahrae has shared a video on FB showing her reaction to the announcement, which will warm even the coldest of hearts, check it out below:
