Lockdown definitely has us all reminiscing on the past, trying to remember life before all the craziness. JT and Fallon are more than on that wave too, taking the time to get nostalgic about the first time they met at an awards show more than 15 years ago.
In classic Timberlake fashion, he didn’t remember where the pair met, but Fallon clearly remembered it like it was yesterday “I remember backstage with you at the VMAs. We shared dressing rooms kind of,” said Fallon.
The night was definitely a huge career milestone for both entertainers, with it being the first time Fallon was hosting a show and the debut of Timberlake’s solo singing career. No pressure right?
“I was pacing downstairs and I think I was dressed as a superhero or something and I was pacing and I’m like, ‘I’m so nervous, man. I hope this hosting thing goes well because, you know, if I host this that makes my career,'” recalled Fallon. “And you go, ‘Yeah, well this is my first solo thing ever, so I guess it’s the same.'”
The pair went into depth into how important the night was, not just for their careers but for their friendship.
They also went into depth about Timberlake’s music video for his Anderson.Paak collab ‘Don’t Slack’, as well as talking about trolling Anna Kendrick in the music video.
To add some hilarity to the mix, the pair also debuted their ‘Quarantine Remix’ depicting all the stuff they’ve been getting up to in quarantine, and man it hits close to home. Check it out below.
