Apple has launched the new iPhone SE, it’s flagship budget smartphone. The SE is it’s first low-cost smartphone in four years, starting at $399 USD, which is way cheaper than it’s newer iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro Lines phones. The move comes as an attempt to boost sales while consumers wait for the launch of new high-end iPhone models that run on 5G later this year.

But there’s a catch, the SE is using the iPhone 8 design, along with a less advanced camera system, a smaller Liquid Crystal display and Touch ID fingerprint scanner instead of 3-D facial recognition. But is still perfect for those on a budget who want to get their hands on the latest Apple release.

The SE will come in black, white or red, with storage ranging from 64GB to 256GB. Even though it may be a bit behind the other new iPhones when it comes to groundbreaking features, the phone still uses the same A13 processor as the latest flagship phone, so you know it’s gonna run just as well.

This marks the first time Apple has released an iPhone while most of it’s stores are closed and employees are working from home. But hey, at least we’re still getting state of the art tech for all our phone needs!

For now check out this showcase of the portrait mode on the new SE below.
