Thoughts are with his family…

In news that will make any kid that grew up in the 2000s fairly upset, Mythbusters host & engineer guru Grant Imahara has passed away at the age of 49. It is reported that he died after experiencing a brain aneurysm.

Issuing a statement on the news, a Discovery rep said “We are heartbroken to hear this sad news about Grant. He was an important part of our Discovery family and a really wonderful man. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family.”

Imahara was born in 1970 in Los Angeles and achieved a hell of a lot in his 49 years. From graduating with a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering at the University of Southern California, to working at Lucasfilm’s THX division as an engineer, and of course hosting Mythbusters as well as as Netflix’s White Rabbit Project, he proved he could really do it all.

His Mythbusters co-hosts Adam Savage & Kari Byron both took to Twitter to express their sadness at the news, with Savage ending his statement with “I’ll miss my friend, while Bryon wrote that she wished she “had a time machine”.

Proper sad news, check out the outpouring of tributes below.
