Racking up the views…

Netflix accounts have definitely had to work plenty of overtime in 2020, forced to keep millions upon millions of users entertained while passing the time in lockdown. No doubt that besides the automatic go-tos on Netflix, original films were forced to step up too. And they definitely did, helping us to appreciate the fact that Netflix know how to make a kick ass OG that manages to strike a balance between raw and open to emotionally daring, all the while trying to release an “impactful movie every two weeks.” Thus, the streaming service have gone & done us a favour by revealing their ten biggest original film debuts of all time, and of course it’s packed with quality.

Coming in hot is the Chris Hemsworth blockbuster Extraction & the Scorsese drama The Irishman clock which we fully expected to clock mad views on the list, but other titles like The Platform and Triple Frontier’s rankings definitely surprised us just a bit. Bloomberg notes that “All 10 of the movies were released in the last three years, most of them in the past 12 months, which makes sense when you consider that Netflix has added 43.6 million customers since the start of 2019. Each new release can reach a larger audience than its predecessors.” So, it seems there’s nowhere to go but up for Netflix OGs, and we can’t bloody wait for more. Check out the full list below.

1. Extraction – 99 Million
2. Bird Box – 89 Million
3. Spenser Confidential – 85 Million
4. 6 Underground – 83 Million
5. Murder Mystery – 73 Million
6. The Irishman – 64 Million
