Seth Rogen has returned to the headlines in recent weeks, making waves for his upcoming films, his May profile in GQ and our personal favourite: trolling the absolute shit out of American politician Ted Cruz.
However, his GQ profile is what we’re focusing on today. The upcoming interview saw him get super deep on his life in recent years, talking about everything from the random AF meetings he’s been having with George Lucas and Nick Cage to his mega-mansion where’s been chilling since the pandemic. Oh, and also the time Emma Watson walked off the set of his 2013 movie This Is The End.
If you’re not familiar with the film, it’s basically a stoner’s dream film. It follows Rogen and other celebrities playing themselves as they bunker down in James Franco’s mansion while the world goes to shit. Fans will be familiar with Watson’s cameo in the film, in which she literally stole all of the main cast’s supplies and went out to fend for herself amongst the wreckage of society. However, she was meant to have a bigger part, specifically involving, as writer Stuart McGurk put it, “Danny McBride as a cannibal and Channing Tatum as his leather-thonged gimp on a leash.” But apparently she wasn’t having it, storming out of production.
Now Rogen has finally confirmed it did indeed happen, but insisted there’s no hard feelings, saying “I mean, I don’t look back on that and think, ‘How dare she do that?’ You know? I think sometimes when you read something, when it comes to life it doesn’t seem to be what you thought it was. But it was not some terrible ending to our relationship. She came back the next day to say goodbye. She helped promote the film. No hard feelings and I couldn’t be happier with how the film turned out in the end.”
“She was probably right,” he added. “It was probably funnier the way we ended up doing it.”
Pretty wild, but good to hear there’s no bad blood between the pair. Check out her iconic scene from the film below.
