The SNL cast isn’t thrilled about the news that tech wizard Elon Musk is set to host next month, and they’ve made no effort to hide their disdain. And to be honest, old mate Elon probably didn’t help the situation, tweeting “Let’s find out just how live Saturday Night Live really is” right after the announcement, which would understandably grind the gears of anyone who works on the show.
SNL staff writer Bowen Yang didn’t take too kindly to that, reposting a screenshot of the tweet with the caption “What the fuck does this even mean.” He also shared a yawning face emoji on his story after Elon was announced as host, going out of his way to make sure people knew he didnt at all like the choice.
Cast member Aidy Bryant, on the other hand, posted more of an indirect jab at Musk, posing a screenshot of a Bernie Sanders tweet disapproving the 50 wealthiest people in America; which Musk pretty much sits on top of.
And finally Andrew Dismukes, who formerly wrote for but now stars on SNL, didn’t even bother to hide his dissatisfaction, writing online “Only CEO I wanna do sketch with is Cher-E Oteri”, referring to Cheri Oteri, a CEO who was a regular on the show between 1995 and 2000.
It’ll definitely be interesting to see Musk on the show. No doubt it’ll make for some memorable moments when he hosts on May 8th alongside musical guest Miley Cyrus. Check out the SNL cast’s response to the news of Elon hosting below.
